School of Music University of Kentucky - Artist/Teacher of Viola
Assistant Professor of Viola, tenure-track position beginning August 15, 2008.
The School of Music of the University of Kentucky seeks an Artist/Teacher of Viola to maintain a viola studio of national distinction. The successful candidate will have an established record as a performer and teacher of viola, and will have experience with the recruitment and retention of qualified undergraduate and graduate viola majors. Related assignments as appropriate could include: performing collaboratively with fellow faculty; administration of the University of Kentucky String Project; string pedagogy; coaching chamber music; other secondary teaching areas.
Qualifications:
Masters degree required, Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Duties: Teach viola, related subjects as appropriate, and perform collaboratively with Schwob faculty. Attract and retain talented viola students while maintaining a visible career as a performing artist.
