Douglas Temples is chamber music and orchestral performer that has appeared across the United States at the Spoleto Music Festival, American Viola Society Festival, Southeastern Composers Symposium, and as guest violist with the Durward Contemporary Music Ensemble. Internationally, he has performed in France and Germany, presenting concerts in Provence, Paris, Berlin, and Leipzig. Temples is currently Associate Principal Viola of the Aiken Symphony and a tenured member of the South Carolina Philharmonic. A dedicated educator, he maintains a private studio in Columbia, SC, co-directs the Carolina Academy of Music Chamber Music Workshops, the SC Philharmonic Soda City String Intensive, and is a Suzuki teacher for the Suzuki Academy of Columbia. Douglas earned degrees from the University of Tennessee and Illinois State University and is a DMA Candidate at the University of South Carolina
