Tanav Gowda

Tanav Gowda, 18, is from Princeton Junction, NY and is in his first year studying viola under Professor Eric Wong at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. Since the age of 12, Tanav has taken private lessons with teachers including Marjorie Selden, Takuya Horiuchi, Myles McKnight, and Kerri Ryan. He participated in the 2023 BUTI Young Artists Orchestra as well as the National Youth Orchestra (NYO2) in 2024. He additionally has a rich musical background in the Indian classical vocal tradition, for which he completed his arangetram (initiation concert) at the end of high school. Tanav is pursuing a second major in Mathematics and in his free time, enjoys solving Rubik’s cubes, watching basketball, playing Brawl stars, and spending time with friends.
