Alice Sprinkle is a violist and academic originally from University Park, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance with Highest Honors (University of Colorado Boulder), a Master of Studies in Musicology (University of Oxford), and a Master of Arts in Music Education with Distinction (University College London). Currently, she is earning a PhD in Music Education at UCL. Having won first prize in the 2018 David Dalton competition, her article “Bach’s Slurs: Abandoned by the Editors” was published in the Spring 2020 issue of JAVS. Alice has attended festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival & School and the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute. In Oxford, Alice plays with many local ensembles, most notably the Oxford University Orchestra.
