20 Feb AVS Greenroom featuring Antoine Tamestit – September 7!
Please join us for a very special evening as we welcome international viola superstar Antoine Tamestit to the AVS Greenroom!
One of the most distinguished viola artists of today, Antoine Tamestit is regularly featured as a soloist with the world’s top ensembles, including the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, among many others. His extensive discography includes works of Brahms and Telemann on the harmonia mundi label, and most recently, Joe Hisaishi’s newly written “Viola Saga” recorded for Deutsche Grammophon. An ardent educator, Tamestit served for 10 years as programming director of the Viola Space Festival in Japan, and he now teaches masterclasses at the Kronberg Academy and around the world. He plays on the very first viola made by Antonio Stradivarius in 1672, generously loaned by the Habisreutinger Foundation. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from and interact with one of the leading voices of the viola!
